Quartz Mining Act (RSY 2002 c.185) — Covers discovery of minerals other than placer gold. Single claims up to 16 hectares (~40 acres). Annual representation work required.
Placer Mining Act (RSY 2002 c.171) — Covers alluvial gold and other placer minerals. Leases up to 65 hectares. Placer claims recorded differently from quartz claims.
